DYSLEXIA
What happened to me? And what's wrong with me?
I am 19 years old,
but I was still hard to talk and hard work to understand the lessons that I
received. I often find it difficult to express what I want to say, especially
in front of the decent thing crowded. Sometimes the words that I said upside
down to make people who hear it feel confused. Actually, when I was in elementary
school I was one of the student who was very difficult to teach. But strangely,
I also often get a champion in the class, though only including the top ten. I
also do not know what really happened to me, until finally my parents consult
me to a doctor. After getting a variety of checks and tests, the doctor also
said that I had "dyslexia".
Dyslexia is a
condition that a person experiences difficulty in learning, especially in
reading and writing. In addition to affecting the ability to read and write,
are also suspected dyslexia affects the ability to speak in some infected.
Physically dyslexic will not be seen as a patient. Dyslexia is not just limited
to the inability of a person to compose or read a sentence in reverse order,
but also in a variety of sequences, including from top to bottom, left and
right, and it is difficult to receive the command to be followed to the memory
of the brain. This often causes dyslexics concentrations considered in some
respects. In other cases, also found that patients are not able to answer
questions such as description, length.
There are two
types of dyslexia, namely dyslexsia developmental (congenital) and aquired
dyslexsia (obtained due to disturbances or changes in the way the left brain
reading). Developmental dyslexsia suffered throughout a patient's life and are
usually genetic. Some studies suggest that the disease is associated with
dysfunction of the gray area of the brain. Dysfunction is associated with changes in connectivity in
phonological areas (reading). Some early signs of dyslexia default is late
talking, no clear articulation and upside down, difficulty learning shapes and
sounds of letters, confusion between the concepts of space and time, as well as
verbal instructions indigestion, fast, and sequential. At school age, most
people with dyslexia may have difficulty combining letters into words,
difficulty reading, difficulty holding fine stationery, and learning
difficulties in receiving. And until now, scientists and researchers have not
been able to find a drug to cure dyslexia.
Regarding the
above facts, I do not quickly surrender. "Before the end abstinence
off" me, especially my parents wanted to heal "gift" is.
Although it sounds very difficult, but they still keep trying, almost every day
they take turns to teach me, introduce letters, numbers, sentences, until
reading paragraph. But when I read a paragraph, I always repeat the same word,
in other words I did not read the sentence below it, then my parents use a
ruler to help me read it correctly.
When I entered
junior high school, my parents and some teachers recommend me to using a
variety of pen colors to distinguish my writing and make it easier to remember
what I have written. The method is very powerful and made me understand more
about the lessons that even the less I like or mastered before. Because it
really helped me to overcome my weaknesses, even now, I am 19 years old and
have entered the fourth semester of the university, I was always using different
color pens and paper for my lessons.
My parents always
reminded me of a proverb that they change a little, "Teacher abysmal
teaching, it did not flourish like flowers" which means that if we learn to
let earnest, do not half. I always remember it all my life and become a
reference. Although dyslexia disorder has no cure for, but we think it a small
thing, a concern, it can promote someone who has this disorder, proven to me.
And may be in the schools of this group harassed because 'folly' to digest and
understand the lesson. In fact, the very imagination of dyslexic high school
beat their professors, for example, Albert Einstein, Leonardo Davinci, and many
world leaders who have dyslexia but can change the world with their genius.
Whatever happens
to you, do not give up too quickly!
